WHAT CAN YOU DO?
A4ST was formed to provide a forum for the many individuals and community groups who have serious questions about a plan to spend close to $2 billion on a transportation project that doesn’t solve the area’s biggest transportation problems at a time when the state is arguably in financial crisis.
The Alliance has just begun to organize and recruit supporters. We recently launched a petition drive and secured a large number of signatures in only a few days. We are forming an executive committee to assist in running the organization and are meeting with many local citizens, civic and neighborhood associations throughout the area. The Alliance is dedicated to promoting fiscally responsible mass transit planning that will bring much needed relief.
If you agree with the goals and mission of the Alliance, there is more you can do:
Help distribute literature at meetings and community events.

Let them know you have serious questions about how the state is going to spend transportation dollars! Your elected officials WANT to hear your voice, so make phone calls, write letters, and send emails now!
Add your name to the A4ST list. Show decision makers that, contrary to much of what’s been featured in the press, there are many people and communities in the region who are concerned about the Purple Line. To add your name, send an email to info@a4stmd.com.
We would be happy to send concerned members out to talk to your neighbors about the issues and challenges, as well as options that may provide more efficient quicker solutions to our traffic congestion.
Help us continue to promote a public dialogue asking the question about whether the Purple Line is the best use of our transportation dollars to ameliorate traffic problems.
Talk to your friends, neighbors, etc. encourage them to visit www.a4stmd.com to learn more about the issues and to register their concerns.
PETITIONS
We have just begun to circulate petitions and reach out to people throughout Montgomery and Prince George's Counties who have concerns about the Purple Line plan. Until now, many people raising questions have not been seen or heard by public officials. If you would like to take a petition around your neighborhood, please contact us.
